Proper Installation of HardiePlank
When installing cement board siding, whether it's lap board, shake or batten board, it is important the proper systems are in place. As a preferred siding contractor, Reaction Exteriors goes above and beyond to make sure your siding is installed correctly and that water will never find its way into your home.
- We install 2 vapor barriers, DuPont Tyvek, followed by Benjamin Obdyke Hydro-Gap drainable house wrap.
- The entire field is detailed with 5/4" Azek.
- Head flashings are installed above foundation lines and horizontal Azek trim.
- All head flashings are sealed with DuPont flashing tape and properly integrated into the vapor barriers.
- The cement board product is installed to manufacturers specifications with aluminum flashing present at all butt joints and touch up paint applied to all cut ends.
- The siding is finished with caulk detail and every board is wiped down with a mild cleaner to leave it looking brand new!
